phpMyAdmin是一個以PHP為基礎，以Web-Base模式架構在網站主機上的MySQL的資料庫管理工具。
phpMyAdmin可以管理整個MySQL伺服器(需要超級使用者)，也可以管理單個資料庫。

對於不熟悉 MySQL 命令列指令的人來說，是很方便的管理工具。

phpMyAdmin 4.0.4 正式版發佈，這是一個小的bugfix版本。
phpMyAdmin 提供了以下主要功能：

    建立、複製、刪除以及重新命名資料表
    管理使用者及使用者權限
    多國語系管理介面
    可將資料匯出至 CSV、XML、PDF、Word、Excel 以及 LaTeX 格式

    search globally in a database or a subset of it
    transform stored data into any format using a set of predefined functions, like displaying BLOB-data as image or download-link
    support InnoDB tables and foreign keys
    support mysqli, the improved MySQL extension
    communicate in 50 different languages
