二進位範本類似於一個C / C + +結構，但實際上是作為程式運行。
每次範本中聲明的一個變量，該變量被映射到在一個檔案中的一組十六進位位元組。
通過修改變量，然後在該檔案中的資料可以被讀取或寫入。
因為範本是作為程式運行的，如果，或是可以用whil​​e語句以及功能複雜的表達式。
運行範本時，所定義的變量可以被編輯使用範本的結果，如左圖所示。
新範本可以新增到010編輯，甚至可以被配置為自動運行，當一個檔案被加載。

SweetScape 010 Editor is a professional-grade text editor and hex editor designed to quickly and easily edit any file or drive on your computer. A Binary Template looks similar to a C/C++ structure, but is actually run as a program. Every time a variable is declared in a Template, that variable is mapped to a set of hex bytes in a file. Data in the file can then be read or written by modifying the variable. Because the Template is run as a program, if, for, or while statements as well as functions or complex expressions can be used. When a Template is run, the defined variables can be edited using the Template Results, as shown on the left. New Templates can be added to 010 Editor and can even be configured to run automatically when a file is loaded.
